Antivirus protection may be the virus itself

A friend of mine called today to ask if I’ve been having any problems with a computer program about virus infections. Well seeing as I’ve been offline for awhile due to my being so busy of late with the business end of things, I went ahead and logged on to my account, or should I say, tried to log on. It appears that the antivirus protection program going by the name of ANTIVIRUS XP 2008, has embedded itself into my computer as well. I have as yet been unable to either access the program itself or to erase it from my hard drive. Brings me to believe that the program itself may be a virus or some kind of password stealer that may have been injected into an e-mail or perhaps as an attachment on some site I may have visited. There is no record of my having downloaded anything in over a month or two, so I’m at wits end to figure it out at this point. I’m going to cal one of those geek squads to see if they can get to the bottom of it. I may have to can the whole hard drive at this point and start all over again. I do too much online to have to put up with such nonsense as this.

Computers are always trying to make things easier at the office

Enterprise Asset Management Software is a new program that my wife’s office is checking out and she has been put in charge of handling, for the most part, the whole kit and caboodle, which she is excited and nervous about these days.

Computers are coming into play more and more often in today’s work force and a lot of tasks that were once handled by humans are being turned over to the always changing computer’s newest technologies, but humans will always be a necessity in order to program it, run it and fix it.

Net Simplicity offers simple office administration software, that states it “allows it to run your office instead of you.” their hopes are that her company will benefit from their room scheduling and asset management software.

Economy Issue

Sometimes the most obvious solution is right in front of us, yet for some reason we just don’t see it.  When we use common sense in life things do tend to be a little bit easier.  This subject came up after reading an article on gas prices, where it state that only 10% of Americans work from home.  You would think that with the increase in gas prices that that number would have at least doubled by now.

Fortunately for those few they are saving a lot of money and time (without the commute).  Unfortunately for the rest of us one reason why we still drive into the office is because employers do not trust us.  That was the top reason why a lot of companies did not want their employees to work from home.  Other reasons revolved around the work that needed to be done.  For example, if you work the front desk at a hotel you need to be there in person.  I guess the only thing we can do is hope and pray that the economy will improve in the near future.

Coffee shop chains are crying the blues

I wonder how can the most popular coffee shops in the world be having money problems? I mean, they are charging primo bucks for a cup of coffee and there are always lines of cars waiting to go through the drive through and buy their high dollar caffeine fix. The crew in San Fran call it “Five Bucks Coffee” instead of “Star Bucks.” I know several people who drink 4-5 cups of Starbucks every day. So how can they be having money trouble?

On the cover of the Yahoo news is an article about how Starbucks is going to close up to 600 stores this year and lay off a lot of people - over 12,000 jobs will be lost. What are all those highly trained baristas going to do for work now? I mean, what is up with that?

Zennioptical.com has great prices

I finally broke down and had to do it.  I went and got my first pair of glasses so that I could actually see the road while driving at night.  It got pretty bad, I knew I needed glasses when I almost ran into a truck that was in front in me. And I will be able to see much better while watching TV or at the movies, which will be a plus!

I’m so glad I did some research on line before going out and buying prescription glasses, because I found a great company at zennioptical.com.  This site offered by far, the best prices and has a large assortment of frames for the whole family.  Their assortment included tinted sunglasses, bifocals, and a progressive lens among many others.
