Black Friday & Cyber Monday

This year I can only imagine how many people are going to be utilizing the Internet for the fantastic deals that are always offered on line on cyber monday.  With tons of people turning to on line shopping for the sole reason of saving cash money, there may possibly be a lot less people storming the retail chains on the day after Thanksgiving known as “Black Friday”.

I know my wife won’t ever attempt the Black Friday madness ever again, once was enough for her and she has managed to find deals using other methods, rather than deal with all of that craziness. These people that wait in line since the wee hours of the morning in all kinds of nasty weather and the wild and wacky things that happen each year usually end up on the evening news and is very discouraging.

This year she has found a web-site called Blackfriday.biz that offers tons of savings to be had on Cyber Monday this year and has all ready bookmarked the link for her favorite holiday shopping retail store, Target, which is only one of hundreds of merchants that are offering savings and promotions for this huge event that can take place in the privacy of your own home. The wife has already spread the word about this savings opportunity by emailing the link to their web-site to all of her friends and family, along with a post or two on her blog that she manages to find time to keep up to date some how.

The Internet just keeps making life easier and easier these days!

Labor Day Weekend

The 3 day weekend celebration for Labor Day has officially arrived and the weather is making it a challenge for anyone to make any type of plans for any kind of outside activities so it is any one’s guess and we will just have to take it one day at a time.

Took the family out to dinner tonight at our favorite family restaurant, The Golden Coral, their large buffet makes it the perfect place to take everyone and suites every ones needs and wants perfectly, and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg either. I thought that it would have been packed, being as it being a Friday night and all, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that it was not busy what so ever and had a whole section that was empty at one point. Guess the economy really has hit this area hard, if the Golden Coral isn’t able to keep at full restaurant on what is usually the busiest night of the week for local restaurants in this area.

Free Ground Shipping & Free Batteries at Surefire

A good place to find a massive inventory of surefire illuminating tools, such as flashlights, beam filters, weapon lights and accessories galore, can be found at LAPolicegear.com and there is currently a promotion that offers FREE Ground Shipping of any Surefire product order of $50 or more. And another fantastic offer, of which I found very interesting, is that they provide you with FREE Batteries with most of their lights, just not on any of their many closeout sale items.

My father has owned one of these Surefire flashlights and has always thrilled with it and has never been disappointed with it’s performance, it appears that this would be a good time to order one for myself to rely on as well, these are the best flashlights that have ever been put on the market, you can count on that.

Parent’s are doing the Back-to-School “Happy Dance” at the Bus Stop!

Every year, on the first day of school, most of the kids arrive a bit early at the neighborhood bus stop, along with several of the parents tagging along to make sure that their child gets on the right bus for their first day back in school.

When the bus finally comes and all the kids have boarded it safely, and it closes it’s doors, all the parents do a little “Happy Dance” that has become a yearly ritual, that must surely is a spectacle for the whole neighborhood to witness and talk about. And this year being no different, yesterday was the “Happy Dance” of the 2008/2009 school year that has now officially started, and most parents are extremely “happy” about it finally arriving.

Black Friday - the easy way

It is only a matter of weeks before we see signs of the Christmas Holiday season coming about. I remember last year, we were at the Mall and the Labor Day long weekend had just ended, when we noticed that we were all ready seeing decorations being brought out and hung up for Christmas. The wife and I were totally surprised to see this and how disturbed we felt about retailers trying to get us to spend money on Christmas when we still have bathing suits hanging out to dry all over the house from a day just being spent having fun in the sun, at the pool!

This will be a very interesting Christmas holiday season, people are in such a financial mess, cut backs are inevitable for everyone across the board. With the cost of everything rising, folks are trying all kinds of things in an effort to cut costs, in order to survive this economic nightmare that people in Washington have gotten us into.

Black Friday will most likely attract even people to bundle up and come out in the middle of the night, to freeze your fanny off, standing in line, along with hundreds of others, in order to get into the stores that always offers such drastic savings and promotions for the public to purchase, this famous day after Thanksgiving.

I have never gone to any of these retail stores on a Black Friday, the wife has tried it a couple of times, only to come back in such a state, that she has sworn off ever going through that again. But she has found a way to get the same types of sales and promos by going to iblackfriday.com, image that a virtual Black Friday!

Since we rely on credit cards quite a bit during the holiday season, we buy a good amount of gifts from the stores that we have charge cards with. JC Penney gets a lot of our business during that time and the wife has all ready gone onto iblackfriday.com and found that JC Penney has a good amount of gift idea’s listed for the Black Friday event. I was surprised to see how many retail stores have their specials listed on this site, like Toys R Us, Circuit City, Ace Hardware, Gamestop, IKEA, Pep Boys, Kmart, and tons more, way too many to list here, but you can certainly take a look for yourself and see what they have out there for you. You can also sign up for them to send you an email when new offers come up for your choice of stores, how cool is that!
