I don’t know what the wife puts into her beef stew that makes it such a delicious meal, but what ever it is I’m sure glad that she knows what she is doing. In all of the years that we have been together I can only remember one time that I wasn’t happy with what she cooked and that was probably over 20 years ago by now. My wife is one helluva good cook and for that reason I have put on some pounds over the years, but I put them on with her good cooking and not from drinking beer like most of my buds have done.

She has been cooking this batch since 1:00 this afternoon and the aroma is driving the entire house hold mad in anticipation of being able to actually taste it. She is being very protective of this batch, she will not even let anyone in the kitchen to stir it for heaven’s sake. I can only hope that it will taste as good as it smells, we should know within the hour.

On-line shopping is fast becoming the way to go these days, I love being able to stay at home and look around on the Internet much more than driving somewhere and dealing with the public, going from store to store and getting lousy customer service on top it all. Give me my PC and let my fingers do all of the work any day. 

I have decided that it is time that I jump on the band wagon of owning and using the bluetooth headsets that you see people wearing all of the time these days, it seems to be the norm now to see a person walking by them selves and carrying on a conversation with what appears to be themselves, since they are not talking into a visible cell phone or with another person. Although sometimes I still find my self startled at times when some one starts talking right beside or behind me on those things.

I have been asking a few people that I know a few questions about their experiences with their bluetooth headsets and for the most part I am hearing good things about them. And they are always coming up with new technology and great ideas that are keeping people coming back for more.

I understand that their Plantronics Headsets are a great way to go, they are so light weight that their is no discomfort involved as was with some of the older models when the first came out. I was told about a great on-line company that does have a web-site that you can order off of, that has a great selection of these lightweight models, that goes by the name of MobileBloc.net, and are affiliated with Skype, and after looking around at a few other places, I have decided to go ahead and order from them. They offer payment from PayPal which is a feature that I like and wish more companies would accept from them, I use my PayPal a lot.

I am told that this company provides excellent customer service and sells nothing but the best high quality merchandise, so I will let you know how it all goes.

The wife and I were out and about today and we passed several the the firework stands that are popping up all over the place, so after our last stop of the day we decided to go ahead and pull in to the next one that we saw.

I’m glad that we pulled in to the one that we did because it ended up that we knew the guy behind the counter and he gave us a pretty good deal. I like it when that happens. We still ended up spending more than we should have so the guy still made out on the deal, I’m sure.

A few neighbors and I have been discussing the problem of items being taken from our yards lately. This past year it has been happening more and more to most folks up and down our street. I am seriously thinking of placing security cameras around my place and see if they seems to do any good or not.

I know of a company by the name of Barcode Discount that I have had experience with in the past, that deals with a lot of barcode items like barcode software  and equipment, from a place that I worked at several years ago. After leaving that company I looked to see if they had put up a web-site as of yet and was pleased to see that they do and that not only do they sell barcoding equipment they also have a nice line of security cameras that I plan on checking out to see if they would be suitable for my needs here at the house. They were nice people at Barcode Discount and I wouldn’t mind giving them some of my personal business.

I don’t have the time or much opportunity these days to read much more than the newspaper or a magazine or a Reader’s Digest perhaps, which the wife always has several copies conveniently located in the bathrooms in the house. But that doesn’t mean that once in a while I’ll find a book that really interests me and I will take the time to do what I can in reading it all the way to the end.

My daughter actually had me in mind when she and her friends went to the local flea market yesterday when she was looking through a box of books that were being given away for free. She is an avid reader and loves looking for new and exciting books to bring home and when she sees books that are being given away she usually walks away with an arm load.

This box contained a book written by Jimmy Buffett, by the name of “A Salty Piece of Land” a novel. She knows that her mom and I are both avid Jimmy Buffett fans from way back and she went ahead and picked it up for me along with a bunch of other ones for her from this box of free reading materials. That was a pleasant surprise, she is always surprising us with things, and they are not usually on the pleasant side I’m sorry to say.
