Toy Cars

Found a box of old toy cars from when I was a kid buried in the storage bin in the basement. Most of them are hot wheels cars with redline wheels. I was surprised to find that some of them are worth a few bucks these days. So now I’ve been doing some e-bay watching, and researching the going prices for the cars. I’m not sure of exactly how to rate them, condition wise, I’m sure that they’re not exactly mint or anything along those lines. But I have found a few that could be worth around forty or so dollars apiece. Which, although surprising, may turn out okay for me monetarily, if I can find someone to buy them that is.

New York has awesome properties for sale

New York City real estate, of course, is known for how expensive it is and I’m sure that the real estate crisis is hurting there as well as everywhere else these days. I have an old friend who is thinking of relocating to New York so that he can be well established when things start evening out some in the real estate industry.

He has been doing his research on-line and has landed an interview with a very well known real estate company by the name of Prudential Douglas Elliamn, which has 60 offices all over the New York area from Manhattan to Montauk and serves over 350 communities. He sent me the link to their web-site of www.prudentialelliman.com and I did take the time to look at it for a while to see what he was getting himself into and they do have a nice site, I’ll have to admit, they have a constant video playing on their home page of some of the wonderful homes, inside and out, that they have listed and man do they look like some pretty fancy properties. A real estate agent could retire after selling just a few of these listings, I wish him luck with his interview and I know that if he sets his mind to it then he will go far in New York, New York.

Drinking and not driving

Just got a phone call from a buddy who had gone out with some friends and neighbors to look at some furniture and then proceeded to do some serious drinking before bringing him home safe and sound. I could tell he had been drinking by the time he got the first sentence out of his mouth and I told him as much, which surprised him, why people think that other people can’t tell when they have been drinking I’ll never understand.

I’m just glad that he is home and not behind the wheel, I told him to eat something and then hit the sack and be ready for the next morning’s hangover.

Bargains on-line

The wife was on the computer the other evening when I popped my head in the door to the room that we use for our “home office” and I saw that she was on-line and was totally absorbed in what she was looking at, so I got behind her to see what was capturing her attention so well. It seems that she had found a site that she had been told about by a co-worker where you can shop online with free shipping promotions, and special on-line coupon deals with a good amount of companies that are allowing on-line shopping experiences for their customers.

She had found a good deal (15% off) on flowers for our daughter’s prom boutonniere for pinning on her dates lapel and then she ran across a HP Pavilion dv6700t Special Edition series that if she orders quickly enough she could save well over $200, that is what got her so excited. She has been looking around for some time now for a new computer that she can call all her own and not have to share with the rest of the family, which would be cool, I’m sure.

I asked if I could take a look and see if they had any promotions that I would be able to use, so she left the room to start dinner while I poked around a bit. I found that they have a promotion going on with some laptops that I think she may enjoy owning instead of another desk top one that will take up room that we really don’t have to spare as it is. They even offer free ground shipping with orders over $549 or more, that is a big savings right there, I’ll have to show her after dinner.
