Carnival fun

Once a year come spring time, a carnival comes to our town and the whole family enjoys spending an evening riding the rides, eating the foods and walking the Midway watching other people spend their hard earned cash on the games that are famous for being rigged.  I don’t mind spending money in order for my family to have some fun, but I’ll be darned if I will just hand over cash to a Carney so that my kids can throw a few balls or darts or anything else for that matter, so that they can bring home a stuffed animal that we could purchase anyway else for around $1 and will end up ultimately in a pile of other junk collecting dust and taking up room.

Window treatments upgrade

The wife has been after me for some time now to give some of the rooms in our house some new window treatments. We’ve been in this house for over nine years now and I have to agree that we are in need of some upgrades. Blinds for our youngest’s room are going to be the first order of business and the wife brought up a web-site that she has had bookmarked for some time now called www.selectblinds.com.

We both agree that the 2″ Express Faux Wood Blinds that they have to offer in a nice rich Mahogany tone would be ideal for our daughter’s room and they are currently being offered at a great low price. The web-site for Select Blinds is very easy to work with and has some great tools to help you in your search and we have decided to go ahead and apply for their free sample just to make sure that the color is indeed the one that looks the best in that room.

We will see how this order works out and then we will proceed to the next room in need.

Speaking of the IRS

The wife and I actually got both our Federal and State tax returns done early this year and we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our refund check and the rebate check the President has so graciously promised to us hard working tax payers. I know we are not going to be one of those folks that goes out on a spending spree that will help stimulate the economy as the President is hoping for. We are going to be one of the many that uses this money in order to catch up on our bills in order to keep credit rating as high as possible, credit is one thing that we are trying so very hard to keep up with these days. It is too easy to screw it all up and too difficult and costly to get it back in order once again.

Don’t mess with the IRS

The very idea of IRS tax audits makes people very uneasy, and rightfully so. So far we have been lucky and have not had to deal with that problem (you can believe that I am knocking on wood after saying that). Unfortunately one of my brothers just received that ever so dreaded letter from the IRS in the mail and he sent me the most pitiful email that I’ve ever received from him.

Poor guy just went through one heck of a nasty divorce and the now ex-wife is being very difficult when it comes to him being able to spend time with his kids that he loves and misses so very much. And he seems to think that this sudden IRS audit has come around due to her attempt in trying to destroy this poor guy. She has already had his wages garnished and he is having a hard time making ends meet these days and now he is in need of a good IRS tax relief  specialist, so I sent him a link to a web-site www.taxreliefspecialists.com that I have had bookmarked for some time now in the event that I would need either Federal or state income tax help  for the paperwork that we file for faithfully each spring.

This company boasts in having a staff with over 40 years of practical knowledge and experience with the IRS and all of its current tax codes and formula calculations, so you would think that they would know what they are doing and are certainly capable of helping him with his current situation.

I really hope that he contacts them and doesn’t flake out on this like he has a reputation for doing and I hope that they can help him in his time of need.

Best of luck to you little brother!
