Found some cool treasure at the local Flea Market

On the week-ends I enjoy taking the wife and kid(s) to the local Flea Market that has been growing bigger and better every year.  It is a great way to spend time with the family, we get to be outside in the fresh air and we always get plenty of exercise walking from booth to booth in our search for items to add to their own individual collections that we have got going.

Today was a good day, the weather was perfect, not to hot and not to cold, with not a drop of rain, which always makes people run for cover and really puts a damper on the vendors sales. Each member of the family was lucky today and each was able to find something to purchase to bring home.

New and interesting PC item

Had a few hours to kill so I thought that I would do some Internet surfing and I came across a very interesting web-site http://www.remotepc.com that offers remote access from any location, in just a few seconds, without any of those lengthy applet downloads!

You may access your home and office PCs from anywhere with an Internet connection which will certainly improve any small business productivity. I see that their plans start at just $4.95 a month and they come with a 30 day free trial offer, with unlimited access, which sure makes it more appealing for folks.

Their web-site advertises some of their newest features that have come out include the recently launched Remote Meeting service allowing up to 10 users to share a desktop, I mean how cool is that!

I have a buddy who I think will be very interested in this and I am going to send him an email with the link attached and see what he thinks, he is always looking for ways to improve the productivity in his business that has been steadily growing over the years.  He really has done well and anything that I can do to help him seems like the right thing to do, we talk quite a bit and I have not heard him mention anything like this and I really think that this is right up his alley because he has turned into what they call a “computer geek” and I say “more power to you dude!”

Daughter’s birthday makes me feel old

Come the middle of this month, my eldest daughter will be celebrating her 21st birthday and she is planning a big blow out party to celebrate the day that she has been waiting so long to get here.

I just can’t believe that she is now a full fledged adult and can now legally drink. It is making this tired old man feel even older and more tired. I know what they mean when they say “It only feels like yesterday when she was born”.

What’s Your Sign?

I’m a Pisces - everyone says that is truly me. I thought it might be cool to search out my daily horoscope from 5-6 of the different astrologers and then at the end of the day see which one was closest to what really happened in my life that day. Most of the time I think of the daily horoscopes as an entertaining tidbit to open your mind and maybe bring you good things throughout your day. After all, forewarned is forearmed.

Sometimes I like to poke around the internet and see what the free readings have to say. There is a lot of good stuff about horoscopes and astrology out there on the internet. Tonight I ran across a site that talks about free will astrology. It’s very philosophical and gave me something new to think about. If you are interested in that sort of thing, check out the Free Will Astrology review and then leave me a comment with your thoughts.

Another Derby Tragedy

What looked like a great Kentucky Derby race ended on a sad note, with the second place horse put down immediately after the race.

I was cheering for Cowboy Cal, #17, who had the lead for three quarters of the race but ran out of steam and didn’t even finish in the top five. The winner was Big Brown - a magnificent horse who overcame the worst starting position on the track and poured on the extra effort in the last 1/8 mile to win handily.

Very sad to see any horse’s racing career come to an end, and the indignity of being euthanized right on the track in front of all the onlookers within minutes of finishing a good race in second place was an extra dose of disenchantment. Really put a damper on the whole thing for me.
