Cell Phone Case

My daughter brought home a handy little cell phone case that she was showing off to everybody. The case is called invisibleSHIELD and is so clear it is almost invisible and it is scratchproof. So her iphone has a chance to last more than just a few months like her last one.

She says invisibleSHIELD was designed for the military to be used on helicopter blades to protect the blades from dirt and dust and someone had the great idea to use it to protect cell phones. If you need an iphone case you should check out the invisibleSHIELD, as my daughter says “it rocks!”

Yard Work

The guy across the street has a nice green lawn. I wouldn’t call it manicured, but it is basically weed free and he mows it regularly. If it was a haircut style I would call his lawn “high and tight.”

Last weekend he recruited some of his guy friends to come over and help him run some extra equipment. He rented or borrowed a thatcher and ran that over the lawn. Then three of them criss crossed the yard pushing seed spreaders. I’m sure there was some type of weed killer applied, too. At the end of the day he ran and edger along the curbs and sidewalk. That’s a lot of work for grass. I prefer the more natural look. My grass has a huge patch of wild violets that pool near the mailbox so its not just grass. There is also an area off to the side that I let the tree seedlings grow and create a thin underbrush. I cut my grass every 10 days or so rather than every 7 and cut it high. This year the dandelions are everywhere, so I guess I will have to get aggressive about killing them off, sure wouldn’t want the dandelion seeds blowing across the street and ruining that guy’s high and tight. And then theres the garden in the back. Now that’s a lot of work but it produces food not just grass.

Real Estate Blog

Little brother sent me an email yesterday out of the blue. Seems he has been working for a government contractor down in Alabama and they have offered him a promotion which you would think is always good news. It means more money coming in just about when the gas prices have gone beserk and everything else is costing more and more. The downside is that he will have to move from Alabama to the DC area and he’s not sure that’s a good thing. I don’t blame him. We’ve lived in the DC area for many years, close to the beltway, all the malls, family and all. We moved away from the city to find a house we can afford and haven’t looked back since. But my brother would most likely want to be close to the beltway so he doesn’t waste half his day sitting in traffic. So I shot him back an email with the website of a real estate broker that can help him find a house if he wants to move up here. The broker was on TV the other day on the Discovery Channel and I happened to catch the show and his name is easy to remember, Daniel R Odio, because he has a website that has a certain ring to it, DROdio.com. And I guess the main reason I made a note of it to send it on was because he has a blog and since I am all about blogs now I wanted to read the blog, which was good, by the way, and probably anyone who wants to buy or sell real estate in Virginia should go to the website too and get to know Daniel R Odio.
