That time of year again!

Finally got my garden plowed and tilled. Think I’ll till in some manure before planting this year and I may just plan on going with seedlings as opposed to seed. I believe I”l start by splitting the plot and making some 40% or more just for the melons this year. That’ll still leave me room for pole beans, a few tomatoes, a little squash, and who knows, maybe some spinach or something along those lines.

There is plenty to do in the yard this year what with all the high winds we’ve had so far. Leaves a plenty to rake and mulch, stonework to repair. Roof work on the shed and other typical household repairs that need tending to. I’ll have to trim back the blackberries and shore up the grape vines. And I think I’ve lost half my fruit trees to slugs and bad weather.  Still have to tie back up the privacy screening that blew off the chain-link fencing. I originally put it up to block out my neighbors yard and his pesky little rock throwing, limb breaking, foul mouthed little brat of an offspring. Not to mention I simply don’t like the fellow at all! Yes, it’s that time of year again, when we look forward to our neighbors going away on vacation so that we may actually enjoy the peaceful nature of our own domain!
