Buying and Selling

I’ve learned that in the buy and resell business, that you have to get in early and out quick. Or, if you have the patience, you can wait out the rush and grab up the items that show up late in the game by those trying to cash in on the high prices being paid for what many believe to be rare and hard to find, especially in good shape or in the original containers, etcetera. This is especially true when it comes to old toys. case in point, the matchbox red-liner cars from the 1960’s. One that comes to mind is the Volkswagen Beach Bomb. Originally starting around $500.00 for one in mint condition in original packaging, and getting that price, has now suffered the mass dumping on the market by those collectors in need of cash during these hard times, causing the prices to dip to an truly affordable price where some can be had for under a $100.00, and even half that if your lucky.

WRESTLING

Was watching professional wrestling the other day on the satellite channel, the one they call Monday Night Raw. It appears that the wrestler called Triple H won the title match after John Cena eliminated JBL Triple H eliminated Cena and then Triple H beat the reigning champion, Randy Orton. Anyway, Orton challenged Triple H on his “rematch clause” for the title in that very nights main event. When the match was on they were back and forth for about 20 minutes or so when the general manager of the show lost his mind a bit, (for the show of course), while Triple H had Orton in the middle of the ring in a “cross face” submission move the general manager pulled the video plug and then the soundbite went blank. Guess it just a new way to get people to tune in to the next episode of “World Wrestling Entertainment”!

Current events…

With all that is happening of late, what with the Democrats throwing more bull into the political wind bagging that has been ongoing since the conception of politics in general, I find it necessary to toss in my own two cents worth. It would appear that common sense would prevail with the public at large, but alas, that seems not to be the case. So lets point out a few facts. One, the democratic party has voted to block any building of oil refineries past the few that we do have, which happen to all being located in hazardous areas as far as serious weather conditions are concerned. Two those same democrats have blocked any further oil drilling in our own country regardless of the fact that we are sitting on vast oil reserves just waiting to be pumped out of the ground. Three, the democrats have repeatedly accused anyone opposing their own agendas of “fear-mongering”, when in fact they themselves are guilty of the worst such offenses. What needs to be done is someone to lay out the blatant truths of what it is we are facing, regardless of the fact that it is not exactly what people necessarily are wanting to hear. The real truth of terrorism in today’s world is a bit scary, yet we can win, we can put an end to all the worlds ills…but it will take paying a heavy price and the changing of our nation’s policies both here and abroad!

Looks like we need another PC

My youngest of the family came to me so very upset late last night, it appears that the computer that is in her room has died and she is not a happy camper. I spent over two hours trying to get it back up and running and only accomplished getting my temper under control in front of such a youngster.

Guess I will have to get on-line and she if I can come up with something for her real quick like, for such a young kid she has gotten herself very attached to her PC that she has all to herself in her room.  I’ll see what I can do for her.

Never could get a grip on how the Public Education System rated students using the SOL tests. My twelve year old daughter just took her 6th grade Sol’s and scored close to 400 or something like that , well anyway it turns out she came out with a D+! I realize that that is passing, barely, but passing none the less. She actually gets pretty good grades in school in most all her classes. She has several B’s and a few As and a couple of Cs too. I just don’t want her too feel like she didn’t cut it when she tries so hard. I think it is probably something like test anxiety or nervousness that makes her not do so good on those kinds of tests, I never paid much mind to them myself, matter of fact I don’t believe I ever took one when I was in school.
